One of the most famous and acclaimed looks created by Leigh Bowery and his long-time friend and collaborator Trojan was called "Pakis from Outer Space".

Leigh and trojan were regular attenders at the Palace and enjoyed the attention they got from their freaky fashions. They had moved on from Hard Times and had returned to a more glamourous look. Leigh had been too scared to wear the new look out at first and had made Trojan debut it. Leigh dressed and styled him. He wore a long satin robe with a big star on the front, stripy tights, painted platform boots and a tall hat with a bit of hair from an old wig he had found stuck on the back to look like he had flowing locks. He covered his whole face in blube, green or red make-up and stuck sequins on top, or he would sometimes paint extra features on like a Picasso painting. (...)He would complete the look with various bits of cheap Indian jewellery that they bought down Brick Lane, such as stick-on nose rings with a chain that went to the ear.

Cameras always started flashing when Trojan was dressed in this fantastic new style. Leigh got a bit jealous and thought that as he had developed the look he should get the credit, so about two weeks after Trojan he too became what he famously dubbed a 'Paki from Outer Space" look . The Paki look was the first time that Leigh had experimented with a totally made-up face. Sue Tilley - "Life and Times Of An Icon"

"When he was hanging around with his friend Trojan, sporting a look they called Pakis from Outer Space, I thought they were a bit naff. I'd been painting my face blue years ago, darling!" - Boy George, on his auto-biography "Take It Like A Man".
